Community & Responsibility
Stache takes a different, refreshing, and community focused approach.
The Importance of Responsible Junk Removal in Our Community
What does junk removal have to do with the community?
The word “Community” can mean different things to different people. A basic, but appropriate definition is “a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.”
Based on this definition, it’s easy to see why Stache Junk Removal & Property Services places such a large emphasis on community. We believe that we’ve got a responsibility to make our community a better place to live and do business. Read on to see areas in which we strive to contribute to our community.
Donation Over Dumping
Let’s face it, there are many cases when items have outlived their useful lives and they must be disposed of. However, there are many opportunities to donate items that can still serve a purpose. When moving, organizing, or downsizing, it’s common to accumulate a collection of things that aren’t “junk”, but are no longer needed. That’s where we come in: we’ll haul away the junk, but we’ll also make every effort to donate usable items as well. Our favorite local non-profit is Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Lancaster, Ohio.
Our local Habitat ReStore is an asset to our community. Not only do they help build affordable homes, but they also provide cost effective solutions to their store patrons as well. For these reasons, we look forward to visiting weekly to drop off items to be repurposed.
Environmentally Conscious "Junk" Removal
We’ve all got a responsibility to care for our environment. You may have heard the phrase Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. This idea can be implemented in a variety of ways, and we’re happy to do our best to follow the “Three R’s” when providing our service. First, we reduce as much as possible on our end. This means being careful when selecting our tools, equipment, and protective equipment. For example, we’ll spend a few extra bucks to buy higher quality gloves, rather than the cheap throw-away style. Next, we’ll be a conduit for folks to “Reuse” items by donating them to local centers. Not only will these items provide a more cost effective option over buying new, but they also “Reduce” the demand for new production. A double-whammy!
Finally, Recycle. Did you know that the old bike frame in your shed, hot water tank, or outdated oven can become raw material to create newer and more efficient appliances, vehicles, and other everyday items? While it’s definitely best to Reduce and Reuse first, recycling is an excellent way to divert from the landfill and find value in things otherwise considered junk.
Proper Disposal Methods
Unfortunately, we have all likely encountered a scene of illegal dumping. Whether it’s stuffing a dumpster after dark, a mattress dumped in an alley, or tires and other debris dumped down a county road. Not only are these illegal dumps an eye sore, they’re costly to clean up and aweful for our local community’s environment. Stache Junk Removal takes pride in always doing the right thing when it comes to disposing of your unwanted items. We’re also registered with the EPA and are inspected yearly for compliance.
Through donation drop-offs, being environmentally conscious, and always following proper disposal procedures, we do our best to be a contributing member of our community. If you’ve got an idea of how we could help in your community, feel free to drop us a line!
